I am also bad at drive-thrus. I am so short I have to put my car in park, take my seatbelt off and shove half my body out the window to reach my food.

  • Commedia 2X00

When I was a kid, I was convinced that if I said something wrong while ordering, my whole family would have to leave. I don't know why I thought that.

  • Just had an exam and this comic makes me feel a little better. I haven't been to a drive through in….over a decade! I hate being in an idling car. Have you ever checked out Weird Al's "Trapped in the Drive Thru"?

    • Hope the exam went well! And yes, I definitely remember that song! That's one of my favorites of his.

I have a random memory of someone telling me to listen to that song when it first came out. I'm not sure if it was a real life friend or my other great friend called The Internet.

Ordering at a drive through is super easy. i dono what you guys are talking about…

    • !true indeed =)

      • Evan

im collecting smileys from you now. that's two so far!

For some reason, the first time I read it I read the -kssh- sounds as cymbal sounds. It wasn't interference, the guy was beatboxing.

    • ActualHuman

You made me see everything a whole new way.

      • Best part is that the comic works perfectly that way too!

Well, you might be healthier because you don't eat all that fast food…

Nice, almost like free shipping. Finally getting that sweet, sweet Smile! shirt ( 😀

Foreign accent clashes are even less helpful with this. I'm in the US, my accent is British, and many of the staff on the voice machines here have Mexican accents. Apparently they don't mix. I asked one drive-through for macaroni and cheese, and they confirmed that I wanted to order chocolate cake. To this day I can't figure out how they got that from it.

Though I don't have this problem, it does make me think of one of my favorite toons…may I share?:

I saw this and thought of all the Invisible Bread Culinary Arts I've been privy to.

I think this would be a delicious go-to for all your hungry moments.

Just FYI, I'm getting a video ad for a guide to women's clutches (purses) on this page… I dunno if you do or do not want video ads.

    • Paula

It seems to be from "jacquistafford" dot com.

      • Yup, I just got that terrible ad too.

Allllright, just blocked it. Thanks for letting me know. Any ad that starts talking like that is something I definitely don't want on the site.

    • Evan

all i see is expedia and… some sort of eyebrow thing for women…
the former is explained by my extensive search for a hotel for PAX yesterday and the latter i am somewhat disturbed by.
      oh wait no.
the latter is just a string of video ads of various generic types of things you'd buy at a drug/grocery store.
was afraid i was blacking out and buying women's pharmaceuticals again.

TLDR: turns out im not a closet cross dresser

  • Echnaret

This is probably one of the reasons I always get out of my car and order inside.

    • Evan

started reading you comment and thought it would end with "and speak really close to the mic so they can understand better"

  • Kody

My first vehicle was actually a 1995 Saturn SL2 =P True story.

    • Awww man, you had the "fast" one! I was always jealous when I saw an SL2 with the orange plastic on the back that said "twin cam" because it meant that it was faster than my car.

    • zac
